fall wish list

I had a very successful weekend shopping at Goodwill on Saturday.

Pictures and posts to come :-)

Today I want to show you the things I have on my wish list for this fall. It can sometimes be hard to find specific things that you are looking for, while trying to be thrifty. But, you'd be amazed at what you can find when you least expect it.

the perfect chambray shirt

I have been looking for a chambray shirt for months. This is difficult to find at Goodwill because most of the chambray or "jean shirts" tend to have flower or Christmas appliqués (lol). And, if a chambray shirt becomes available at Plato's Closet, it is snatched up right away due to it's popularity.

brown oxford heels

A pair of brown oxford heels will be a must! I am thinking that a look I will like for the fall is wearing fun colored tights with dresses and skirts. These will be the perfect touch to finish off the outfit.

patterned leggings

This is probably number 1 on my list. How comfortable do those look? I just want to curl up with some hot chocolate and watch a movie on the couch :-) Again, like the chambray shirt, I think these will be harder to find at my local stomping grounds, but I will be keeping an eye out.

What's on your fall wish list?

green? grey?

Yesterday was Day 2 at the new job. Which means I'm so busy I have to take pictures in the bathroom on my breaks from training :-)

This is what information overload looks like! Ahhhhh!

I found this cardigan at Plato's Closet recently. It is the most interesting color. I LITERALLY don't know what to call it. It's not green; it's not grey...what do you call green/grey?

I have recently started tucking my shirts in lately. What are your thoughts on tucking?

Cardigan: (the Limited) Plato's Closet $12.00
*This cardigan still had the tags on it from the Limited. It was originally $49.90, so I think my $12 price tag was a steal.

I really fell in love with the feel of the fabric and the pattern.

And of course, I finished the outfit off with my favorite brown wedges. They make me super tall and fee really authoritative, which is always good in a new environment.

new day, new shirt

Disclaimer: I started a new job yesterday, so these pictures were taken in the beautiful bathroom of my new office.

In preparing for my first day at my new job, I of course needed a new spunky outfit to say, "HEY JOB, THIS IS ME!"

After I put this outfit together I realized this entire outfit, minus accessories, is from Plato's Closet.

White skinny jeans: (the Limited) Plato's Closet $8.00

Blazer: (Target) Plato's Closet $6.00

Top: (H&M) Plato's Closet $5.00

I like that this shirt is fitted with the side zipper.

Love the semi Peter Pan collar

Finished off with my most favorite Target sandals

I promise that I won't have too many more work bathroom photo sessions. I'm breaking down and actually getting a full length mirror. I have been standing on the side of my bath tub to get the full view, since we moved in over a year ago :-)

shoes

Don't forget about SHOES during your trip to Plato's Closet!

I had searched far and wide looking for just the right brown wedge sandal.

These are perfect for me! They are comfortable and just the right cognac color to match my favorite belt.

And...a steal at only $10!

I also found these cute nude/blush colored flats.

These were only $6 and are great with so many different outfits.

Oh and did I mention...

I got my very own navy blue chevron print coupon organizer in the mail from GrandmasLittleLilly!!

diy nail polish organizer

I’m switching things up today. Instead of a fashion find, I am going to show you a DIY project that I recently completed.

This is how I store my nail polish now. I saw that the Kardashians kept their nail polish this way on Keeping up with the Kardashians a few years back, lol.

I saw this spice rack turned nail polish organizer on Pinterest and thought this would be a much better way to store my nail polish so that I could actually SEE them all at once when I go to choose one.

I searched far and wide to find a wooden spice rack, which wasn’t as easy as I thought. I searched Goodwill for a couple of weeks in a row, but all I could find was wooden shelves. I finally found one at an amazing antique store called Queen of Hearts. It was painted black originally, so I had a little bit of work to do.

All you will need is some sand paper and your favorite color of spray paint. I got my supplies at Hobby Lobby, which allowed me to use 40% off coupons. You know how I love to save a money.

Here is the finished product.

sequins

I hope you like the new blog design!

It is all thanks to thefairyblogmother.com.

I just love it. I feel like it represents me and my style very well.

Today's post is all about sequins.

I have seen shirts like this in numerous stores. I like them because they add a bit of glitz but are still pretty simple to wear with say, jeans.

I found this Ellen Tracy sequin pocket tee at Plato's Closet for $5.00 and had to grab it.

I wore this shirt out to dinner and paired it with some Forever 21 camel colored skinny jeans.

And I finished the outfit off with my champagne colored Target sandals. I have literally worn these sandals with 90% of my outfits this summer.

AND don't forget about the give away for 1 of the first 25 followers! You could win this chevron print coupon organizer from GrandmasLittleLilly's Etsy shop.We are at 16 followers, only 9 more to go! So tell your friends and spread the word about Mrs. Skeels Deals.

Let me know your thoughts on the NEW blog design, I would love to hear your feedback.

bows, bows, bows!

My eyes are automatically drawn to ANYTHING with polka dots and bows. I had actually seen this sweater in a Forever 21 store before. I liked it because it is a little bit longer than most cardigans. And, the bows are such an interesting feature, that not too many accessories are needed. I'm thinking about wearing it with some red skinny jeans. (when I find some, that is) :-)

This cardigan is a little bit more than expensive than most cardigans I find at Plato's Closet, but I think that is because they knew it was a cool find with GREAT detail.

Do you have any pieces that make a statement like this cardigan does?

warm & fuzzy

This is by far one of my favorite finds yet! I was having a “me” afternoon and was of course, wondering around Plato’s Closet. I wasn’t looking for anything in particular and I’m convinced that’s when I find the best things.

I found a lightweight, black, Columbia fleece.

As soon as I saw this jacket, it instantly reminded me of Fall! Pumpkin Spice Lattes from Starbucks and college football-GO BIG RED!

Do you have items in your closet that are just screaming to come out in the Fall?

Don't forget to spread the word and help me reach 25 followers! You could be the winner of an adorable chevron print coupon organizer from GrandmasLittleLilly!
